Hi Howie,

There's a link to the Library on board QE2 here
https://www.theqe2story.com/forum/index.php/topic,1819.msg32291.html#msg32291

There is also a topic on QE2's clocks, however it doesn't appear that the photos of the clocks that you posted match any of them...

The other site that you might find usefull is flickr
Isabelle's fine collection of photographs is there, and a great pictorial reference 'library' for QE2!

You can enlarge the pictures here too.
Happy hunting!

Possibly i've posted this before so if i have then apologies, put it down to an 'reaction' to my 2nd Corona vaccination!

Anyway, one day on QE2 a American Gentleman passenger came to the Security Office and asked if he could have a chat, in his hand he had a bag. He sat down and we chatted about general things relating to QE2, my previous Service life and then he got round to asking if i was interested in old Cunard clocks!  When i said that i was always interested in any old QE2 Memorabilia he open the bag and produced an old Cunard clock, he actually told me which ship it had come from but, sad to say, over the years i've forgotten which one it was!
This clock was originally a pulse clock, for those unfamiliar with this type of clock it was connected to a central clock which sent out a pulse of electricity which kept the clock reading the correct time, not dissimilar to the 'Master clock & Slave clock ' system. This particular clock had been altered, for obvious reasons, to now be run by a small battery operated time piece.

Attached are a few photos of the clock which now stands proudly in my bathroom.

That does look a good solid looking clock.

Some of us would have killed for one of these .One of the hosts on the farewell crossings confided he had one but it was damaged.
From the moment you first glimpsed the Queen,
you just knew you were in for a very special time ahead.!

Has any got any pictures of the QE2 Library in the 1980's I am looking for pictures & information on the two large clocks that were on display for a while... I was told they came from the ticket office in New York Broadway? they are E Howard electric workings
I was in ownership of these but sold them a couple a years ago to a friend but would like to find out more about them as he as asked where they came from etc & plans to sell them at auction...thanks

Howie had posted looking for information on this clock that was in the Library in the 1980's.  I thought it was worthwhile reposting to see if we can find any more information.  It is part of QE2's history, even though the clock will have been sold at auction by now as the original post was made in 2013.

I was proud to be involved with planning QE2's 50 year conference in September 2017 in Clydebank
