Every time I see these photos I am fascinated by the detail and the story they tell. 

On the first batch of photos (nos. 3,4,5) you see the teak decking being laid on a "dreich" Scottish day. I always imagined that the decking would have been laid later in the build process when there was less chance of damage but that does not seem to be the case. 
I was proud to be involved with planning QE2's 50 year conference in September 2017 in Clydebank

Given the programme on QE2 last week... l make no shame in bumping this topic. trouble was l was looking for something else.
From the moment you first glimpsed the Queen,
