The Virtual QE2 Experience on Cunard's Site
« on: Feb 15, 2009, 12:45 PM »
I've contacted someone at Cunard and asked them if this can be preserved on the site somehow, and they've acknowledged that they're trying to do this and the website people have been informed.

Passionate about QE2's service life for 40 years and creator of this website.  I have worked in IT for 28 years and created my personal QE2 website in 1994.

I only came across this thread now. It is so nice to be able to refresh your memory by looking at all those pictures! So nice and so sad too  :'(

Most of the pictures seem to have been taken at night, but then, when would you ever find any of those rooms without somebody in them or walking through during the day?

Thanks, Chris, and thanks Rob for getting in touch with Cunard!

Thanks Pia - it's a marvellous virtual experience - although nothing compared to the real thing!

This is probably slightly off-topic.

But I saved copies of many of the QE2 webpages from the Cunard site. If anyone wants the files, I'll be more than happy to share. And I also saved a copy of the QE2 farewell flash video.

(now everyone knows why my old laptop died. i stored too much QE2 stuff on it.)

I only came across this thread now.

That was on the 8th March - I've only just found this thread. I am so pleased to see that Carnival haven't already deleted the pages and I too hope that they'll keep them there for posterity.

Not sure if this has been posted before.

It would be great to see her again like this.

Both of these sites are "dead" now, and I am not even sure why the link leads to a totally unrelated site.

Rob, do you think the website people you were in touch with would have kept a copy that we could somehow get hold of?

I remember seeing this back around 2009!
Hopefully someday, it can find it's way back online ;)................although it's very unlikely :(
