I am re-reading Potter and Frost at the moment and noticed that the contract for the building of QE2 was signed on 30 December, 1964. That's fifty years this year. It might be worth noting that date as a significant date in the QE2 calendar and might be worth some comment generally. In a way it was at the moment the contract was signed between the owner and the shipbuilder that the ship's life started.

Happy Christmas to you all.

Thanks Lachlan  :)

I have only had a quick look at my Calendar and looking forward to checking out the key dates that are a good reminder of events in the birth and life of QE2.

You can see more about the signing of the contract posted by Michael Gallagher on this post "50 Years ago ..."

I was proud to be involved with planning QE2's 50 year conference in September 2017 in Clydebank

Hi Lachlan

I have included that memorable date in the 2015 version of the calendar which is, of course, still available for purchase. https://www.theqe2story.com/QE2Shop/2015Calendar/

Can anyone who ordered and enjoyed a calendar, please take 2 minutes to go back to Lulu and rate and review it? Just a sentence will do.

I have left a review for each of the Calendars.  I need to reorder the small one as I gave it away as a present.

I have received an email from Lulu offering a discount on calendar sales for the next two days. If you haven't got round to ordering one yet now would be a good time to grab a bargain.

Through 26 January, save 20% off all calendars with code NWC20

There have been 97 sold this year with an approximate 50/50 split between Premium and Standard.
