Oriana isn't that bad, but the general consensus is that she is ugly. Definitely not as beautiful as Canberra, though.

I do like Canberra's design.

For some reason the Canberra's design doesn't interest me at all.  :-\

I can't say I ever found Canberras looks appealing either. I met up with her several times during my time at sea and don't think I even took a photo of her in all that time. I suppose by that stage I had been spoiled by QE2.
Don't just be part of her past, be part of her history!

I'm not the only one then. For some reason the Canberra has just never appealed to me.

I find Oriana's much more interesting. I do like Canberra, but I understand why you don't like her design.

Oriana's stern doesn't really appeal to me either, however I do think it is a very interesting and original design.  :)

I, too, never found Canberra's looks appealing.  She was dearly loved by many.  But after seeing QE2, to me, all ships pale in comparison.

QE2 - the ship for all of time, a ship of timeless beauty !

I had to do a top 20. Mine are (The list changes):

1. Queen Mary
2. United States
3. Queen Elizabeth 2 (Or Rotterdam)
4. Rotterdam (Or QE2 or QM2)
5. Queen Mary 2 (Or Rotterdam)
6. Kungsholm
7. Eugenio C.
8. Ivernia
9. Funchal
10. Windsor Castle
11. Canberra
12. Augustus
13. Statendam
14. Southern Cross
15. Oriana
16. Victoria (Union-Castle, Incres, Chandris, Louis)
17. Stella Solaris, Athena (TIE)
18. Leonardo Da Vinci
19.  America
20. Olympia, Arion (TIE)

Strangely, I voted QM2 instead of QE2 or Rotterdam even though I like them more. I'm sailing on QM2 for my first time so I decided just in case my list changes...

I'm updating my list:

1. Queen Mary
2. United States
3. Queen Elizabeth 2 (Or Rotterdam)
4. Rotterdam (Or QE2 or QM2)
5. Queen Mary 2 (Or Rotterdam)
6. Kungsholm
7. Eugenio C.
8. Ivernia
9. Doulos Phos
10. Windsor Castle
11. Savannah
12. Canberra
13. Marco Polo
14. Southern Cross
15. Oriana
16. Aurora
17. Astoria

22. Cap San Diego
23. Finnmarken
24. Statendam
25. America
26. Bore
27. Birger Jarl
28. Conte Biancamano
29. Fairsea, Fairwind (Tie)

My choice is
Qe2 best ocean liner of all time
Qm2 best ocean liner or ship afloat
Qe was the best ocean liner
But each and every ship has its own character and cant be compared to another.

And if we ponder not having QE2 on the list, simply because shes everyones favourite, how might that adjust things?
If things had gone my way right from my early years id have been cruising on Canberra and a crossing on The Stefan Batory, but dear old QE2 got me and never really let go.
But in later years l now have a very deep admiration for The Queen Mary , and alas the Cunard fleet doesn't get a look in
Then again l also toyed with a cruise on The Norway.
So maybe why no do another poll omitting our QE2 and see how that affects things.
From the moment you first glimpsed the Queen,
you just knew you were in for a very special time ahead.!
