Vintage ad

[Matteo 91]

I've created a vintage-style advertisement with the help of Photoshop on my computer  

First, I took the text away from this advertisement of the '50s - the slogan was quite intriguing  



and then  I've placed it on this wonderful picture of Queen Elizabeth arriving in New York at dawn.




so here's the result!    (move the picture to the right to see it completely) What do you think? Is it realistic?

Jeff, I just read through your posts from 09-10. What wonderful memories.
I too traveled on both original Queens and always felt that QE was superior. My father, being a senior NY Cunard manager introduced me to Commodore Marr on a trip we made on QE. What a thrill for a young boy.

Your QE steering story brought back wonderful memories for me too. I experienced a very similar story on a FRANCONIA cruise from NY to Bermuda in the mid-60's. In those days, getting invited to the bridges, as a VIP, was quite frequent. I was up there one night and was introduced to the telemotor steering system. (old hydraulic system) and steered for quite a while. I learned a lot during those visits that became useful for me later, when I went to sea as a licensed deck officer. The Chief Officer who introduced me to that initial experience and taught me so much.....future QE2 Captain Robin Woodall!. (among many)
