Whatever the date...I just think the pics show how much of a "one off" the QE2 was/is. Beautiful!

What a treasure!  What are those holes in the hull under what would be the service waterline in scan 0028?  One has a grating.  Cooling intake?  The other one really is a puzzle to me.

The scaffolding on the bow shown in scan0005.jpg, is that there to apply the "Queen Elizabeth 2" letters?  I don't see it there unless a reflection is hiding it.  It would make sense to apply the ports side first as it was the shore side.
