All The Sounds aboard QE2

I lived in the bow of the ship right below the anchor locker and was woken by what sounded like a steam locomotive passing overhead every time we anchored off a port somewhere !
My cabin was also below the three deck pig so getting to sleep wasn’t easy and then being woken by the thunderous sound of the anchors !!
Also Iremember  in stormy weather the thud of a wave hitting the port bow then the silence as she rode the wave only to be hit again moments later, I lived on 4deck port side cabin 404

The thin walls between crew cabins led to many, many 'sounds' that possibly shouldn't be mentioned on here!

It took my wife a couple of trips to get used to 'them' but after that it became a source of constant amusement when she met the crew member around the ship, they were totally ignorant of what she knew about their antics!!!

On my first trip aboard QM2, I was asked about the difference between her and the QE2. I replied that "the problem with the old lady was that she creaked and moaned to no end, and that the problem with the QM2 was that she didn't".
