A fantastic article about Michael, and about time he got the spotlight for a while.

Agreed! Great article, thanks for posting.

I entirely agree! How wonderful that you, Michael, got the job you always wanted, and that you have been enjoying it for all these years, looking forward to many more.

It will be interesting to see whether you too may start receiving a weekly letter from someone interested in taking over from you one day :) . I am sure that you too would give him or her every encouragement over many years of learning to follow in your footsteps...

Hi Michael -

How many Atlantic crossings have you done counting all Cunard ships ?

Sadly I don't know as I've never kept a tally. Between 80 and 100 at least!

  • At Mach 2 three days after being on QE2...
...and he gets paid to do it! :)

It never fails to amaze me what you find on the forum. There are so many topics that it is easy to forget some of the gems like this one.

We have been very fortunate to have Michael Gallagher as a member of the forum.  He has contributed to topics with his extensive knowledge of QE2, which has resulted in forum members being able to search and find accurate information. There are also many internet searches that link to The QE2 Story when people are searching for information.

I enjoyed reading once more the Liverpool Echo article about Michael and how he pursued his career with Cunard.
I was proud to be involved with planning QE2's 50 year conference in September 2017 in Clydebank
