The theme for this month's photo competition is "Last visit to Greenock", chosen by Peter Hamill.

Photos can be of QE2 on any part of the Clyde as she made her final visit there. They can be taken on board or on shore, or indeed from another boat or ship escorting QE2 on that final visit.

Some may already be in the QE2 Story Gallery -- if you would like to use one of those for the competition, just let the Moderators know, and we can enter them for you, without removing them from their original albums.

Your description should if possible give some information about where you were on the day, as you took the photo.

Photos entered should be your own, or if not, please post them with permission of the photographer, mentioning the name for copyright reasons, and so that the owner can win the prize!

Enjoy the search! It is bound to bring many happy / sad memories :) .

The prize this month (donated by Lynda Bradford) is a choice between a set of 3 Cunard 175 Posters measuring 59 cm by 42 cm

or the DVD "Seawards The great ships"
.

How to enter

The album is open -- so now is the time to look for your three most interesting pictures on this theme. Wishing you happy memories as you search your photo collection to find up to three pictures to upload to the competition album.

This link will take you straight there : Last visit to Greenock.

If you have not uploaded photos to the Forum Gallery before, have a look at these instructions, and if you have any problems or would like us to move a photo from the Gallery into the competition, just contact us on admin@theqe2story.com.

If it helps, you could email the photos to the above address, and we shall gladly upload them for you.

The deadline for submitting photos is 31 August 2023. Voting will run from 1 September 2023 until 1 October 2023, until everyone's time zone has caught up with the closing date.

We look forward to seeing your photos in this competition.

This is the final month of photos for the 2024 calendar. Maybe your photo will figure there!

Enjoy yourselves!  :)

Photos taken on QE2's last visit to Greenock is a good choice for this month's competition.  Were you there and did you take photos that could be uploaded to the competition album?

Looking forward to seeing lots of pictures from this memorable occasion.
I was proud to be involved with planning QE2's 50 year conference in September 2017 in Clydebank

As we are half way through the monthly I was saddened to see that only 3 photos have been uploaded to the gallery so far.  QE2's last visit to the Clyde was a memorable occasion, with many people keen to take photos of this iconic ship, so if you were there and have photos, please think about entering up to three photos to this month's competition.

There are photos in the gallery of QE2's last visit to the Clyde in 2008. Forum members who would like to have up to three of their photos added to the competition, can contact any of the admin team and we can add the photos to the competition for you, while still retaining the pictures in the original gallery album.

Done it!

And by the way, lots of eligible photos from many of our members (whom we did not know at the time!) in the Gallery link that Lynda highlighted above. If you would like us to enter any of these photos in the photo competition, just let us know, and we can move them there without taking them out of their existing albums.

Have a go! Let us see what you saw, that happy-sad day...
