Did you travel in one of the cabins that had a problem and did you suffer the same issue / complaint?
Attached is a document listing all the most frequently complained about cabins.

Looks like Five deck was a no go area. :o
Deluxe cruises years ago had marked on their very detailed deck plans, cabins that had issues. That plans listed the sizes of every cabin, essential to those of us who traveled in the Single cabins.
I always remember in 3006 one time the banging of the crew door just down the corridor and the fact that the cabin floor was on a slant and the door had a gap you could nearly get a room service tray under. Mindyou 3006 was an odd cabin anyway, Outside single but a foldaway bunk .

Weren't many Five Deck cabins not sold in her latter years for these reasons? I seem to recall reading this elsewhere on this forum...

We had 3093 in 2008 and it was delightful, didn't have any problems with it at all.
2154, on the other hand, you were woken up nice and early as the various machinery etc forward was deployed when docking

We had 3005 on our final voyage in July 2008, a lovely cabin with sheer, that my Dad did a short video clip of that I'll try and edit soon!
I remember we had several cabins in her forward section over the years (where her hull started curving in towards the bow proper and the forward part of the flatline sheer started to be very noticeable) and I remember hearing and being woken up by the bow thrusters (before her last couple of years when they were still operational) - a loud rocks or boulders in a tumble dryer sound with the accompanying vibration (one just gets the vibration on QM2 from memory) when she was docking in port. The bow thrusters made slow progress too (given they were underpowered) so were used for quite a bit of time each time they were used!. We also heard and felt the anchors being let go which was quite a sudden sound!

The ones in red were classed as Noisy cabins. It really does show just how much even within its own grade how much QE2 cabins varied in size.

Many of the 5 Dk aft cabins, beyond the Car Doors, were transferred into Crew cabins mid/late 90s as they were deemed unsuitable for passengers. They were occupied by Junior Officers & Staff who saw them as a definite step up from the rest of the - as built - Crew cabins. My daughter had one when she travelled back with me from NY after her Gap year at the Masters School in Dobbs Ferry.
They had the facilities and size of Single Passenger Cabins, but were just a bit 'tired', mind you most of 5 Dk was 'a bit tired' in truth!

The Casino cabins were on 5 deck aft, the main issue in general was creaking deck heads, hence the common use of cunard cutlery jammed into the cracks!!!! I remember one really annoying creak/squeak that used to keep me awake, I finally silenced it by pulling the access panel in the bathroom and spraying liberal amounts of WD40 on the offending area!!!!!

On the subject of noisy cabins, there was a cabin on my first ship 'MV Ocean Princess' that was occupied by the ships DJ....it had the anchor chain pipe running behind the adjoining bulkhead....talk about a wake up call!!
The Casino staff cabins on the Cunard Countess and Princess were located directly above the outer main engines, constant noise and vibration and boiling hot!!!
The cabins on the Sagafjord were next to the stabilizer machinery, nice and quiet in port but at sea there was a constant growling of the pumps!!!
Have to say that our cabins on the QE2 were pretty good in comparison.....
