Post by: alanh on Feb 01, 2015, 08:43 PM
Hello all,
Just found this sight   after I was looking for information on the fire in 76 (writing memoirs) So here I am.already noticed some names from the past.
I started as a commi waiter in 76 working in the Princes Grill with another commi called Les then was in the britannia where I became a waiter later to become the tables of the world.I was a member of the sub aqua club with Hal Crook and John Drew and a few others.

Hello Alan, great that you have joined us!

I am looking forward to some of your stories and shall be happy also to see you making contact again with your ex-crew mates.

Do tell us something about the sub aqua club! Did you go diving in various parts of the world? Sounds so tempting... :) .

Hi Alan,

Welcome onboard, along with everyone else look forward to hearing some tales from the early years of QE2..

Gosh theres a name you dont often hear. What did become of Hal Crook..As a passenger l encountered him as a cabin steward l think in 89 or 91 and my lasting memory aside from our mutual interest in Magic was being chased down one of the passenger decks..

Hello Alan,

Good to have you here. How long did you stay working on board? I see you started in 76. I joined in august 78 so if you were still in TOW our paths might have crossed.

Enjoy finding your way around the forum, there is so much here to bring back lots of memories.

As for you Myles, this sounds like a whole new story!!

Hello Alan,

Welcome aboard, I was very pleased that you contacted me and found the site as you will catch up with a lot of friends. I to would like to know where Hal Crook is now, he spent more time diving than most of us put together. He was a great help to many and was very skilled on all aspects of diving along with a great sense of humour even under water around or inside ship wrecks.

John.
