This is now open to the public, so if you're mulling it over, better decide soon!

The Saturday River Clyde boat trip is a fantastic opportunity to sail down the Clyde on the Clyde Clipper.  You will pass the two remaining shipyards on Upper Clyde, before disembarking where the QE2 was launched at the site of the former John Brown's shipyard. There will be a live commentary given on the Glasgow to Clydebank part of the cruise.

You have the option to book for only the boat trip or boat trip plus Titan Crane.  There will be the option to either go on a small minibus from the Titan Crane booking office to the crane or to walk. We are currently working with staff at the Titan Crane visitors centre and West Dunbartonshire Council Heritage Team to have a guided walking tour to give information on the John Brown's shipyard site.  There is a small exhibition centre "The Drawing Office" at the bottom of the crane where you can browse.  Have a look for yourself:

On return to the Glasgow Science Centre, Gavin has arranged with the Friends of TS Queen Mary for those who are interested, a short tour of the boat to view the refurbishment in progress.

This is a fantastic opportunity not to be missed.

Gavin tells me that more than half the tickets have now been sold, not bad for the first week on sale!

Excellent news  :)

Thanks Malcolm, it is good news that half the tickets for the boat trip have been sold.

The committee are so pleased at the response we have had to the sale of both conference and the Saturday event. However we still need to work on promoting the trip to ensure we sell all the tickets.

Here's hoping there is also the opportunity for forum members to meet for a cocktail or two, just like being on the QE2.

I'm really pleased to hear the tickets are selling. Plenty of time for the rest to go.

I am really looking forward to the main event, the follow-on event and of course, meeting up with fellow forum members - especially if there are "cocktails" involved  ;)

I looked at the ticket site, earlier this week and saw that for the Clyde boat trip, we had sold 66 tickets, so getting nearer to our target to sell 100  for this event.

We will give people, attending the conference, who have expressed an interest another few weeks to purchase tickets before we look at promoting sales.

Details of how to purchase tickets on the event website.

Slowly but surely heading for our target sales of 100 tickets with 77 tickets now sold!  :)

The boat can accommodate more, but for the visit to the Titan Crane, we want to limit the numbers to ensure people have time to go up the crane, look at the exhibition and for the walking tour.

The ticket sales are going very well, and thank you Lynda, for keeping us up to date.

This is most likely a once in a lifetime opportunity, so if you have not yet booked, now is the time.  :)
