Two shots of her nearing completion during the summer of 1968- one taken by Jim Orr and the other by me- both from another Queen- the original QUEEN MARY the Clyde steamer (QUEEN MARY II)

You are lucky to have these really good 1968 photos  in your collection.  I especially like the one taken by Jim Orr where she stands out against the blue skies.

Thanks Lynda- I was lucky enough to see her from keel laying to trials and very fortunate in friends giving me copies of their photos to fill any gaps I had.

I lived in Clydebank in November 1968 and remember the excitement as the Queen Elizabeth 2 was nearing completion, ready to leave the place of her birth for the last time.

 I love Jim Orr's photo of QE2 in the fitting out basin.
