Deck 5 'D' Stairway carpet replacement during Trafalgar 200 cruise 26 June 2005. The carpet fitters were surprised that a passenger was taking a photograph of this - bet they expected a complaint.

Would it be possible to make up a photo record of all of the carpet patterns in all areas of the ship.  I took many photos of the designs and patterns, which I liked very much, but unfortunately lost my camera.   Is anyone able to start this of with lets say the pattern in the Chart Room?

I saw similar carpet replacement STILL taking place on the Farewell to the UK cruise, with but one month left in service.  In hindsight, it would have been smart to have asked for some of the carpet scraps, which aI suspect the crew would have obliged, but might have looked at us strangely.  I kick my self for not thinking of this, not for eBay resale mind you, but to have a piece of the ship to cherish.

Ken you should have been with me the night l discovered  found myself in  this place ;D The only bit of carpet l have is from the incabin safe, I only wished l had seen a crewmember with carpet scissors, l might have tried crossing his palm, than again how on earth do you explain having a roll of carpet under your arm

LOL, Myles!  I would love to see you walking off with a roll of carpet!  You could stick a small white Cunard bag over one end and just act as if you know what you are doing!

As is the case with any hotel bed, the unsuspecting guest should never look under them for what they might see
But l thew temptation to the wind and looked under a bed of a friend who had dropped something underneath....
The carpet didnt quite fit, but l did wonder how old or new the mattrass was.

Who made the carpets for QE2 (the ones that were in her public areas at the end anyway) ?

Is there anything to stop them making more of them?

How many of us would want replica QE2 carpet for a room or two?  I think I would!

From a distance, it's a bit easer on the eyes.  Whoever thought the Blue Pearl Granite tables matched with this color scheme???  I know these tables were used elsewhere, but they stuck out in here.
