QE2 from a distance from shore side on a passenger launch.53 viewsThis was taken in 1970/71 from a passenger launch once ashore. The QE2 is in the distance while ferrying passengers to and fro ship to shore. I am on the left and was an Engine Room Boy at the time. Neil MacKenzie on the right. As previously mentioned on another picture, this was allowed by my Chief Engineer to gain experience on the launches which were our life boats as well of course. Viewing the QE2 going back and forth like this every day was something I never tired of. John D Hobley FinstR00000

QE2 from a distance was a daily view for some..!51 viewsThis was taken taking passengers to and fro from ship to shore when in the Caribbean in 1970/71
I was an Engine Room Boy at the time ( on the left ) which was unusual but I was allowed when not on duty down below by my Chief Engineer to gain experience on the launches which were of course our life boats as well. Also the overtime helped.! Its a view of the ship I never tired of.

QE2 docks in Greenock for the last ever time, 6th of October 2008163 viewsThis picture evokes such memories for me, as seeing that red funnel under those cranes was always so exciting to me as I travelled downriver to see her (starting in 1990).

On this occasion, I was with special family and friends, and had a really lovely day.

QE2 Arriving in the Clyde for the final time, October 6th 200879 viewsTaken from on board MV Balmoral, this was our first glimpse of QE2 as she came towards us. There then followed one of the most wonderful times of my life, alongside QE2 and HMS Manchester as we headed into Greenock as part of the Flotilla.

Never, ever to be forgotten.
